The Passion of Motorsports: Eva Hansen’s Story

My first race: Monza 2024

MONZA
2024

Track Invasion, an event that is selected for specific Formula 1 races, such as Monza. The gates to the track open after the drivers have crossed the finish line and the track is cleared allowing the fans to rush onto the track and watch the podium celebration.

growth as a creator

Monza was just the start; I had already been posting since late 2022 on TikTok. I was obsessed with the sport: the drivers, the teams, the history; I wanted the whole package. In the beginning, I was just posting regular “fan account” content until my ideas started to grow, and it became clear to me that this was something I wanted to continue in my career and future. Over time, my following grew along with my connection to the community, sharing ideas with like-minded people, making friendships and mutuals over the same passion for the sport. I started to realize that social media is all about consistency and connection.

Reality of social media

Posting every single day Meant coming up with ideas every single day. Social media really is almost like a full-time job if taken seriously. It is still hard for me to stay consistent, as ideas don’t always simply flow out of my brain into the screen. It is even harder to create content that connects with my audience, since my target audience is mainly Motorsports fans, or more specifically Formula 1 fans; I have to center my content around things that they like. While also trying to show my personality and other interests to widen my audience reach.

  1. Balancing consistent posting along with creative and connective content is hard.
  2. Sometimes videos go viral, and sometimes they don’t. It is important to keep believing and trust the algorithm. Researching popular trends is useful, but adding personal creativity is even better.
  3. Social media can also be very harsh. People openly express their opinions, whether they are supportive or not.
  4. Social media is very competitive; There are hundreds, if not thousands, of accounts related to motorsports and Formula 1. The only way to “beat” the competition is to show personal value to consumers.

I have had to remind myself that not everything “just happens”; I have to work my way up. Even if I have low views or low motivation, I have to push myself to achieve my dream.

“content creator”

Some people might think it’s silly to say “I’m a content creator,” but the reality is that Media is mainly led by social media platforms. We get our news, Information, and entertainment all from apps we scroll through on our devices. Most people spend hours on their phones, including me. It just takes the right content creator and the right content to reach the right people. That is why I am not only continuing with Social media but also trying to widen my reach, starting this blog to hopefully share more of my intellectual and creative abilities.

the truth of working in motorsport as a woman.

Motorsports as a Whole used to be a heavily male-dominated sport. Over time, female viewership has grown, along with female drivers, Team members, and engineers. The people I look up to in the paddock are mainly women, Women who have chased their dreams despite all of the obstacles thrown at them on the way. My goal is to step into their shoes, face the challenges, make the impossible possible, and inspire all of the young women who have a passion for Motorsports.

While these may be hard shoes to step into, that is exactly what makes it exciting. Why choose to dream of something you can achieve tomorrow?

Follow me

Follow my journey as I dive into the world of motorsports and media. I will not only show my journey and the steps I take, but also help my fellow Motorsports fans follow their dreams. To show them that a dream doesn’t just have to be a dream, but it can become a reality.
